About Me

I began my career as a marketing communications professional more than 25 years ago, before transitioning into diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in 2007.

When I moved into DEI I knew I had found my home. Working as a DEI executive requires you to listen, understand and articulate. It requires you to sometimes be the voice that must empower others, or to often be the voice of others who do not feel heard.

Through this work, I have been able to gain a better understanding of people and what motivates. Through this work, I have also worked to guide organizations through increasingly complex and sophisticated issues that have impacted us as individuals and as a people. These high stakes and sensitive issues require thoughtful solutions that appeal to people from a variety of perspectives, including their emotional, intellectual and sometimes financial perspectives, to create an outcome that motivates and empowers.

My experience is vast. Throughout my career, I have had the honor of working across different types of organizations, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies to top-ranked global law firms. Earlier in my career, I led a full marketing department, with responsibility for branding, design, internal and external communications, including crisis communications, public relations, and event management. I later pivoted into employee engagement and internal communications, and then ultimately DEI. I began my DEI career at MasterCard Worldwide and have most recently served as President of the Association of Law Firm Diversity Professionals and Head of Global Diversity & Inclusion at global law firm Paul Hastings LLP for the past eight years.

In addition to being a solid communicator, I have the keen ability to write and communicate in areas that are and that require an incredibly sensitive, nuanced and honed approach that motivates, engages and most importantly, shifts mindsets and unites people.

Understanding the sensitive nature of corporate culture and its intersection with socio-economic trends is my sweet spot and the core of my business. Words can be both inspirational and detrimental; but when purposefully joined together, words have the power to break down silos, inform and educate.

Let’s see what we can accomplish, together.
